This Australian-developed indie Metroidvania, developed by a tiny team in South Australia, has been heralded as one of the best games of its kind. Hollow Knight is a hugely challenging game, one that drops you into its setting of Hallownest and relies on you to figure out the way forward, but it’s also hugely rewarding. Learning the map, figuring out boss patterns, and pushing forward through new areas will take focus and attention, but you’ll be rewarded with intense battles, a gorgeous soundtrack, and an unbelievable amount of content. Here’s a tip for beginners – you can bounce off spikes with a downwards attack.
