Mass Effect
BioWare’s space-faring RPG trilogy (and the standalone fourth game, Andromeda) is one of the most impactful game series ever made, but it means something different to every player. For some, getting series protagonist Shepard to date crew member Garrus is the most important part of the experience; for another, it might be stopping the Krogan-killing Genophage. Some will lose all of their crew in Mass Effect 2’s suicide mission; others will never miss a line of dialogue. The extremely satisfying combat is just the cherry on top of an amazing, personal story.
