Sega Saturn

The immediate successor to the successful Sega Genesis, the Sega Saturn is a sad story of overly complex hardware and commercial failure at the hands of its competitors, the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation. Much of the Saturn's library comes from Sega's arcade ports, including Daytona USA, The House of the Dead, and Sega Rally Championship, and its lack of original gaming (especially the cancellation of what would have been the first 3D Sonic game - Sonic X-Treme) is largely blamed for its failure. The Saturn is remember for several well-regarded games though which have kept its memory and fandom alive, including Nights into Dreams, the Panzer Dragoon series, and the Virtua Fighter series.
