The Witcher
The Witcher series has taken Andrzej Sapkowski’s best-selling fantasy series and turned it into one of the most important western RPG franchises ever. The game trilogy follows Geralt of Rivia, a genetically enhanced man who is skilled at slaying monsters and humans alike, and across three games players are free to make a lot of choices about the kind of man he is. The Witcher 3 is definitely the series’ highlight, sporting a deep, complex battle system, an enormous, gorgeous open world, and a lovable cast of characters weaved throughout one of the best plots in all of gaming. It even has a spin-off card series, Gwent, which is also a masterpiece.
